【摘要】:Thetestmethoddescribedhereinmeasurestheabilityoftheexteriorwallcoveringmaterialorsystemtoresistfirepenetrationfromtheexteriortotheunexposedsideofthewallassemblyunderthespecifiedconditionsofexposure.Representativejointsandothercharacteristicsofanassemblyshallbeincludedinatestspecimenwhenthesedetailsarerepresentativeoftheconstructionoftheend-useproduct(s).Thistestmethodisapplicabletoend-useproduct(s)nothavinganideallyplanarexternalsurface.Theoverallperformanceofthetestspecimenisvisuallydocumentedbyfull-colorphotographicrecords.Videotapingofthecompletefiretestisanacceptablealternativetothephotographicrecord.Theuseofinfraredphotographyoftheunexposedsideofthetestwallcanbeusedtorevealdevelopmentofincreasingtemperaturesorpersistinghotspots.Inthisprocedure,thespecimensaresubjectedtoaspecificsetoflaboratoryfiretestexposureconditions.Ifdifferenttestconditionsaresubstitutedortheanticipatedend-useconditionsarechanged,itisnotknownwhetheritispossiblebyuseofthistesttopredictchangesintheperformancecharacteristicsmeasured.Therefore,theresultsarestrictlyvalidonlyforthefiretestexposureconditionsdescribedinthisprocedure.1.1Thisfire-test-responsestandardprescribesamethodtoassessthefireperformanceofaverticallyorientedspecimenexposedtodirectflameimpingementinasimulatedexternalfireexposurepotentiallyencounteredinax2018;WildlandUrbanInterfacex2019;scenario.Thistestmethodprovidesdatasuitableforcomparingtheperformanceofmaterials,whichareusedastheexposedsurfacesofexteriorwallsinconstructionapplications.Note18212;ThistestmethodcloselyfollowsthetestprocedureofCaliforniaOfficeofStateMarshal(SFM)Method12-7A-1.1.2Thistestmethodmeasurestheabilityofthewallsystemtoresistfirepenetrationfromtheexteriorintothewallcavityorunexposedsideofthetestassemblyundertheconditionsofexposure.1.3Thistestmethodprovidesdatasuitableforcomparingtheperformanceofverticallyorientedmaterials,productsorassembliesinexteriorconstructionapplications.Thetestspecimenshallbetestedinthicknessesandconfigurationsrepresentativeofactualendproductorsystemuses.1.4LimitationsofthetestmethodarelistedinSection5.5.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.6Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.8Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous,byvirtuebytheuseofhazardousmaterials,operationsorequipment,andadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.
